ANGELS

Angels are not human – they have glorified bodies. They have thoughts and emotions like we do, but their purpose is different. They were created only to be servants of God. We are as Christ – sons, not servants (Hebrews 8:1-8).

I Corinthians 6:3 says we will judge angels. Hebrews 2:5 says the angels have not been given dominion over the earth, but we have. Hebrews 2:7 refers to Christ or Man as having been made lower than angels; meaning on earth, not heaven and not less than. Verse 9 – for the exclusive purpose of dieing for humanity. Verse 16 – He, we, took on a greater purpose than angels.

Angels are spirit beings. They have choice, but their choices are limited to the spirit world, good or evil. God made us with not only choice, but with a conscience and a will to do as we please in this world. That also affects the spirit world, because we are both flesh and spirit – a body of flesh housing a body of spirit. I Peter 1:12 refers to angels desiring to be like us.

With that being said, an angel’s view or thought of God is not like ours. They, whether heavenly or evil, do what they do in robotic fashion; no emotion. They praise and worship tied to service. We praise and worship with a heart of thanksgiving. They, whether good or evil, cover the entire earth to help or destroy Man (Hebrews 13:2). Demons are fallen angels – Jude 6.

With that being said, how do we suffer in body in hell even though we are dead? There is no such thing as ghosts. No one is floating around in the air. All have a body, whether flesh or spirit. The spirit body is called a glorified body (I Corinthians 15:39-40). So, once we are dead, we put off the body of flesh and become only a body of spirit – but still a body.

Read now I Corinthians 15:41-49; it simply means those in heaven will enjoy all the benefits of heaven in a physical way. Those in hell will be in great pain in a physical way. Why? Because we are still body, but in a body that was meant to live forever, but now in heaven or in hell (Revelation 20:12-15).
