3/1/16: Biblical Healing for Rejection

Biblical Healing for Rejection

How can we overcome rejection?  We need to resist any thoughts, words, or actions that are not from God.  By faith, we can accept God’s word as true and begin healing.

  1. Accept that God made you beautiful
  2. Psalm 139:14 – ‘I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ God knew us before we were formed. Rejection has no place in our hearts … accept God’s truth; we are all here for a special purpose.
  3. Jeremiah 29:11 – ‘For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Stay focused in God’s word and in prayer. There is no task or no mountain too big for you or I if we give our lives to Jesus.
  4. Accept the truth that God does not have favorites
  5. Romans 2:11 – ‘For God does not show favoritism’ God knows how to love all of us as if there was only one of us. God looks at our hearts, he will never reject us.
  6. 1 Samuel 16:7 – ‘For the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
  7. Accept the truth that God can heal your past hurts
  8. Psalm 147:3 – ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds’ To many adults carry around all the past hurts of their childhood. We cannot carry these burdens and walk in Jesus’ light.
  9. In spiritual surgery –God heals us through the Holy Spirit who removes any lingering words or feelings of rejection. Our scars and memories can be healed.
  10. Accept the truth that God can use your hurts to help others
  11. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 – ‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up’ … God does not heal us just for us – now we are equipped to help hurting people to be healed also. When we don’t share how God has healed us many people can stay stuck in their hurts and not find God. Our faith is alive when our Gifts of the Spirit are used to build the Kingdom.
  12. The beauty, peace, and love of God carries no limits in courageous believers who reject the lies of rejection and embrace the truth of Jesus Christ!
