08/01/2019: ANOINTED vs APPOINTED

ANOINTED vs APPOINTED

To start off with I thought we should first go to Webster and ask him what the meaning of each word is. So, we find that the word ANOINT means: to rub over with oil; to consecrate with *unction.

The word APPOINT means: to fix or set officially; (in other words something or someone appoints someone or something.)   *Unction: the act of anointing, as for medical or religious purposes.   Who is it that we look to for anointing and who do we run to for appointing?

EXODUS 28:41 And you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him; and you shall anoint them and *ordain them and *consecrate them, that they may serve ME as priests.         *ordain: to decree; establish; enact

*consecrate: dedicated to a sacred purpose

So as you can see here according to Webster Anointing comes from God and appointing comes from God and or Man. If a person is not chosen by God, or anointed by Him there is no way that that person could ever by appointed by God. However, a person could be appointed by man, but the anointing of man weighs little compared to the anointing of God.         In 1989 I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and it wasn’t until 1995 or so that I felt the call of God on my life with an anointing to carry His message to a dying world. I went to my Pastor at the time and told him what I believe the Lord had told me, however God had not spoken to him of it until a few weeks later. It was at that time that I was appointed by my pastor. Some years later while talking with Doctor Jim Adams he made the statement to me that I should have been ordained by my pastor because God had already ordained me for His service. A few months later I was ordained under Anchor Bay.

The anointing of God carries a large burden and one that is not to be taken lightly. Jesus said that we are to “TAKE UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOW HIM” Until we take up our cross and follow Him we will never truly know what it means to be ANOINTED OF GOD! We can only speculate.

Over the past several years I have been used by God everywhere I have been, and it has always amazed me how He works through those who allow Him to use them. God is aware of those who are His anointed, and He watches over them daily. He knows their coming ins and their going outs, He is aware of any and all words spoken from their lips, thoughts and ideas that flood their minds, actions that they take or do, He is well aware of their imperfections, and He Loves them still.           I for one am Thankful every moment and every breath I take that I serve a God who is forgiving and loving and truly cares for me.

HAVE you been anointed by God, have you been ordained and consecrated by God, or has man done it all for you? Matthew 6:33 SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THINGS WILLL BE ADDED TO YOU!   PSALM 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires Of your heart.

Seriously, what should be the desires of your heart?  Wealth? Health? Spouse? Car? What? Or should it be what God intended it to be; a CLOSER MORE INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM? I think that the longer we wait for the Lord to act on our behalf or to return the less we fellowship with Him. Think for a moment; if we didn’t talk to a spouse or a child of maybe even a friend for a long time would they feel left out and maybe even alone? How about you, if they didn’t spend time with you would you feel alone?

Don’t you think it is past time for you to fellowship one on one with the Lord?

PRAY THIS PRAYER Heavenly Father here my prayer, I am in need Of Your presence in my life, to guide me and To hold me when the going gets rough. I ask You if I have been anointed or not, am I one who has been called by You or am I just Another person chosen by man? I ask all Of this so that I might know beyond any shadow Of doubt that I am one of Yours. I ask Lord Father, that You take me as I am And bring me into Your understanding That I might become a Servant of the Most High God. I ask all of this in the Name of JESUS CHRIST MY LORD AMEN!
