09/25/2016: A Seat Belt for Life

A Seat Belt for Life

A seat belt in a car is essential; just as believing in Jesus is for our place in heaven.

To begin understanding let’s begin with Genesis 6: 5-6; “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination and intention of all humans thinking was only evil continually.  And the Lord regretted that he made man on the earth, and he was grieved at heart.”

God did not want that to ever happen with man, he was heartbroken. Therefore, because of the fall of man, now we have freewill to make choices; a choice to wear your seat belt for protection, a choice to take your medicine in a sickness to get well.

In the same way, we have a choice to accept Jesus as our savior; to believe in him, confess our sins, and spend eternity in heaven.  Psalm 139: 16 says, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in your book of life, all the days of my life were written before I ever took shape.  When as yet these were none of them.”

Our days can be shortened by our free will, our choices that we make.  Proverbs 10:27 says, “The fear of the Lord prolongeth days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”

If you don’t wear a seat belt and crash you may die and if you don’t accept Jesus in your life; you will not go to Heaven.  We all make choices that lead to consequences that will determine our future.

John 10: 9-10 says “I am the door anyone who enters in through me will be saved will live, He will come in and he will go out and will find pasture.  The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy.  I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance.”

It is not predestined that we go to heaven or hell, but by our choices, we make; one of those places will be our home.  Don’t allow Satan to enter your life.  Call out for Jesus.

In this story, our seat belt in our car is used for our protection, just as believing in Jesus will save us, and then we will join Jesus in heaven for eternity!

Today, let’s make the choice to believe and accept Jesus Christ as our savior.  John 3: 16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life.”

Our seat belt, our protector every day will be Jesus Christ!

09/18/2016: Twelve Symbols #11

Twelve Symbols

# 11  Praise the Lord Saints!  We are on Symbol 11, the “Hammer.

The Hammer in reality is “Powerful Judgment.”  Let’s visit the prophet Jeremiah.  In Jeremiah 23:29 ASV, God asks a question and makes a statement at the same time.  “Is not my word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer  which shatters rock?  God’s word has qualities that make it win every time over the deceptive words of Satan’s false prophets.

In Jeremiah’s day, he may have been outnumbered by false prophets, and    they even may out shout him, but God has not sent them.  He will surely   judge them as well as the people who are so eager to be deceived. Remember the predictions of false prophets are lies, but God knows the truth   about the future and them.

His hammer of judgment will fall on the unbeliever!

09/11/2016: Finding Praise

The book of Psalms is known as the book of PRAISE, the individual most mentioned is David. David was known as “the sweet psalmist of Israel” How could such a mighty King, Warrior and leader of people have such a mighty impact of praise? How can we learn from him and so many others when praising GOD?

Psalm 34 – Happiness to those who TRUST GOD!

1  I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Praise/Worship God

Praise is not something that always comes naturally but is YOUR best weapon against Satan. Genuine praise must flow from your heart even during the hardest of times, it produces victory and victory takes you deeper into praise.

Worship is not just an experience it is an act of service, ushering or out pouring of yourself glorifying God.

Psalm 34

4  I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Give Thanks

Give thanks to God in all things, in all situations TRUSTING that HE is the maker and creator of all things. Reach out to Him and LISTEN to His direction, TRUST in HIM! All of these are actions to follow at all times.

 Psalm 34

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Honor Wisdom

(Proverbs 1:7 Fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.) Fear means to have reverential awe of.

Look at vs 13-14 “Why are these instructions so hard for some?” Lack of Trust? Or lack of belief?

 Psalm 34

18 The LORD is nigh (near) unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Walk in Righteousness

Those who walk in right standing (upright) with God will suffer affliction, our faith in the Lord does not offer immunity but it offers overall VICTORY. (2 Tim 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.)

Recap: Praise/Worship God – It is not about what come natural but what is genuine from the heart beyond our comfort but to Gods Glory. (Think as a child)

Give Thanks – Giving thanks and saying thank you are 2 different things. Giving thanks to God is an action. Knowing that you take joy in who God is and what He has given you.

Honor Wisdom – Trust in God, adore Him and learn the instructions of His word.

Walk in Righteousness – Upright, shoulder squared, knowing that in all integrity no matter what the affliction God has the VICTORY.

Graham Truscott said “When God’s people begin to praise and worship Him using the Biblical methods He gives, the Power of His presence comes among His people in an even greater measure.”

09/04/2016: Twelve Symbols # 8

Twelve Symbols # 8

Praise the Lord Saints! We will be talking about Symbol 8 today.

The symbol is a “Lamp” and it means “Light for direction.” Without light, it is very difficult to travel in a world plagued by darkness.

The Psalmist says, “Your word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105 ASV). It is easily understood that God’s word provides you to walk without stumbling when you work the word daily.

The book of Proverbs states that “For the commandment is a Lamp, and the teaching is light; and reproofs for discipline are the way of life… (Proverbs 6:23 ASV). The commandment, the teaching and discipline all are identifying the word of God which provides wisdom leading to abundance and eternal life.

The gloomy, murky darkness of this fallen world keeps people from seeing truth. Nevertheless, we have hope in the Light of this world, which is the Lamp of revelation who is the word of God, Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah.

08/28/2016: Twelve Symbols # 9

Twelve Symbols # 9

Praise the Lord Saints!  We have made it to Symbol 9, which is sword.

The sword in reality is your “spiritual weapon.”  Ephesians 6:17 (ASV)
…  And take the Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.  The sword was the soldier’s only weapon, so God’s word is the only weapon, and is omnipotent against Satan.  It is used to defensively fend off Satan’s attacks and offensively to destroy the enemy’s strategies.  It is the truth of scripture and your outward weapon.

Hebrews 4:12 (ASV)

…  “for the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”  The Word of God is comforting and nourishing to the believers.  But it is a tool of judgement and execution for those who have not committed themselves to Jesus Christ.  Here it is used as the inward judge of man’s heart.  Let us walk around with godly intentions and a heart like Jesus’.

08/14/2016: Twelve Symbols # 6

Twelve Symbols # 6

Praise the Lord Saints! We are back to bring you Symbol 6 in the Bible. The 6th Symbol is “
Food”; in reality, it is “Nourishment to the Soul.”

1 Corinthians 3:2 reads as follows (ASV) “I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able…

Here the apostle is not referencing a certain doctrine, but instead the truths that sound doctrine hold to what are easily digestible. Also given to new believers; for the most part drinking liquids are easily digested.

Matthew 4:4 reads as follows (ASV) “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” This reply from Jesus was taken from Deuteronomy 8:3 stating that God allowed Israel to hunger so that He might feed them with manna and teach them to trust Him to provide for them. This verse applies to the situation Jesus was in and was a perfect reply to Satan’s temptation attempt.

Hebrews 5:12-14 states that after eating your bread and drinking your milk you should be ready for solid food (meat). You should be teaching and sharing the word of God but instead you are not accustomed to the word of righteousness, therefore remaining an infant.

Knowledge without obedience can never advance anyone. In fact, by rejecting saving faith the Hebrews were regressing in their understanding of the Messiah. This is a message about the righteousness of Christ that we have by faith!

08/21/2016: Twelve Symbols #10

Twelve Symbols # 10

Praise the Lord Saints!  We have made it to symbol 10, the Plumb line!

The Plumb line in reality is the ”Benchmark of Spiritual Reality,” or where you are in your relationship with God. A plumb line is a cord that has a small weight at one end called a plumb bob. It is used especially to measure or determine if something is perfectly vertical.

Amos 7:8 (ASV)

… The Lord said to me “What do you see Amos? “ And I said, “A plumb line.” The Lord said, “Behold I am about to put a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel. I will spare them no longer.”

Israel’s true spirituality was tested and was found lacking by God. He used His plumb line of righteousness to determine their slack. The sword of judgement would come from Assyria. This was the third of the 5 visions of Amos.

We must live holy and walk in the light for who knows when God will say enough!

08/07/2016: Against Your Calling

Against Your Calling (A Synopsis from the book Fervent by Priscilla Schirer)

Fear to do something God has told (impressed) you to do can come in many forms – little or small.

The fear was real when I felt God tugging on my heart strings to attend CFNI (Christ For the Nations) in Dallas Texas. I didn’t want to, I was scared out of my mind so far away from home. I had a severe apron string problem – one time when I was young I was unable to even stay at a friends house 1/2 block away without severe home sickness. I actually had my mom come pick me up within 10 minutes of getting there. God had been slowly and gently breaking these strings, preparing me for what was ahead. God was fixing to break some big ones this time.

Upon feeling a strong tug of my heart while at a drama during my college days, I finally surrendered going to the altar with a song playing that melted my heart and tears began to roll down my face. The song was … “My Lord, I Love You, I Praise You. My Lord, I Worship at your footstool. My Lord, I bow down before you. In sweet abandon, total surrender, I give my heart to you.” This was written by a CFNI Student.

The devil has placed other fears in my life:
* Fear of giving when there’s not enough
* Fear to move to Leavenworth
* Fear in starting a new job
* Fear in starting or getting involved in new ministry
* Fear of confrontation

But none of the devils tricks has stopped me from victory and walking forward in the calling God gave me.
Additional scripture:

Joshua 1:1-9 Genesis 12:1-4 Exodus 14:13-16

07/31/2016: Twelve Symbols #7

Praise the Lord Saints! Today we will be talking about symbol seven which is “Clothing.”

The symbol “Clothing” in reality is “a life dressed in truth.” Titus was the recipient to this letter from

Paul. Titus 2:10

(ASV)… “not pilfering but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.” In that text, “adorn the doctrine of God” is key. When you adorn, you put it on and wear it. While wearing it you make the doctrine of God attractive, making it easy to teach that God saves sinners.

In 1 Peters 3:5

(ASV),…The Apostle Peter writes… “for in this way- in former times the holy women also who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands” … An O.T. saint that was a model of inner beauty, character, modesty and submissiveness to their husband is Sarah. Sarah was said to have outward beauty. (very pretty) However, her inner beauty is what is special. We all need to have an inner beauty that reflects the life dressed in truth that will attract sinners to us, so that we can lead to repentance!

07/24/2016: Smile… You are on God’s Mind!

Smile… You are on God’s Mind!

Joshua 1:9
… states, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.
In the midst of the world’s troubles and things that may affect us such as pain, sickness or financial woes, the mercy grace and love of God the Father, Jesus His son and our comforter the Holy Spirit is with us always.

Keep your faith; let your light shine for in the darkness light can still be seen. Say “Have a good day” to all that you meet and Smile – give them Jesus – tell everyone all about the wonders that Jesus has done for you. Unite together all for Jesus Christ.
Psalm 16:8

… I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Because the Lord is at my right hand, He is in my presence; I am on His mind always and forever.
God gave His only son Jesus to die on the cross for me. Why? Because we were on God’s mind, God wanted to give us a chance, a choice, a decision to accept Jesus as our savior and live in heaven forever.
Psalm 139:17-18

… How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! Vs 18 – If I should count them, they are more in number then the sand. When I awake, I am still with thee.

Psalm 55:22… Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. When Satan tries to overload your mind with bad thoughts and you hear him say, “just who do you think you are” Smile and say “I am a child of the most High God.”

Ephesians 6:10
… “Finally my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.”
