5/10/16: Twelve Symbols
Praise the Lord Saints!
Last week, it was Jesus as the “word” of God.
This time is “valuable metal” as the symbol and it symbolizes incalculable worth. Psalms 12:6 “The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over…” This tells us that because God is pure, His words are pure, and we can hold fast and trust in Him; as they used silver to make things and buy things we know his words can shape us and keep us
Psalms 19:10 “they are more desirable then gold, yes then much fine gold”; Here is comparing Gods judgement to gold. Precious metal we cherish. We are to cherish God’s judgements much, much more then gold. His judgements are righteous, and He will avenge His people at the appointed time.
Silver and gold are valuable metals that are used to symbolize the incalculable worth of God’s words and judgements.

5/3/16: Tongues
Tongues, heavenly language or God’s language (whatever you wish to call it) has its place and purpose. I will be the first to admit it has been abused down through the years and totally misused.
On the day of Pentecost in Acts Chapter 2, God used tongues as a sign that an individual had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can really bring such a gift into a person’s life, no other way. Nowhere in Scripture or God’s Word does it say you have to speak in tongues to receive the Holy Spirit. There are other evidences, such as the receiving of power (Acts 1:8). Tongues, or the gift thereof, also came upon them in Acts 10:46 AND Acts 19:6. In 1 Corinthians 12:10, it is named among the nine gifts, so it is certainly of God. 1 Corinthians 14 makes very clear that tongues is real, it’s for us and Paul very much explains its purpose.
Again, tongues are misused greatly, but it does not mean that God does not still use them. Paul makes clear in 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 when that which is perfect is come (the second coming), then tongues, prophesy and knowledge will be done away with or no longer needed. But, for now, they are all needed to edify and strengthen the church. There are times you will hear me or another speak tongues, but it’s just because it’s very hard to hold it in or back at times.

4/26/16: Healing Two Hearts
Healing Two Hearts
We are talking about our heart and our enemies’ hearts. How do we do heal two hearts? We can heal two hearts with lots of prayer and reading the bible.
In Romans 12: 17-21; it says, “Repay no one evil for evil; live peaceably with all men. Do not avenge yourselves; vengeance is mine: says the Lord. Therefore, if your enemy is hungry feed him, if he is thirsty give him a drink, for in doing so you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Therefore, by being, kind and loving towards your enemies you may show them the goodness that God has given to you.
Psalms 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” God’s love is abundant enough for everyone, omnipresent, warn, tender, full of mercy. God’s love can cover you and your enemies.
Psalms 41:4says, “I said, “Lord be merciful to me, heal my soul, for I have sinned against you.” As we pray and ask forgiveness for our enemies, we begin our own healing process. We need to realize that our enemies have their own enemies to battle as well. In our prayers to God, we can lift them up. And, through Jesus, they can be saved.
Psalms 108:6 “That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand and answer me.”
Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it
We can pray, and with our action help, our enemies and as well as ourselves to realize that beyond flesh and blood, our real enemy is satan; who is the only enemy. We have to learn to fight him and not each other.
Colossians 3: 12-13; says, “Put on therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
There is salvation for our enemies and for their enemies and so on.
2 Peter 3:9says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun good work in you will complete it until the day Jesus Christ”;
Matthew 5:44says, “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who spitefully use your and persecute you.”
Pray for your enemies every day. Soon change will come upon them. If they do not know Jesus as their personal Savior, here is your open door, to lead them to their salvation.
- Look past tour enemy, and their flesh. See the devil for he is our true enemy. Psalms 46:1; “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
- The issues are not the person. They are the ideas, thoughts, and actions that the devil tries to give them to carry out.
- Forgive them and pray for God to become the center of their life. Luke 23:24; “Then said Jesus “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.
- The best part of all: LOVE; LOVE them!
4/19/16: Twelve Symbols
Twelve Symbols
Let’s take a look… at twelve symbols that are significant in the Bible.
The first is Jesus Christ. What better way to start out than with the personification of the
word.
John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was
God.
In Genesis 1:1, this phrase is used. It is an absolute beginning of the time, space, and
material universe. The Greek word is logos, which usually emphasizes the message of a
spoken word. The point John was making is that the key role for Jesus, the second person
of the Trinity has always been communication. The Son is the Spoken Word. The living
expression of all that God wanted to tell us about Himself. John also wanted the reader to
know that Jesus is both identical to the God of the Old Testament and yet distinct from Him.
Jesus the Messiah was fully God, even in His incarnation when He emptied Himself. He did
not stop being deity, but took on a genuine human nature/ body and voluntarily came to earth

4/12/16: “I AM” Statement #7
I AM Statement #7
We have been through six great “I AM “statements, let’s recap…
1. “I AM” the Bread of life (John 6:35,41,48,51)
2. “I AM” the Light of the world (John 8:12)
3. “I AM” the Door of the sheep (John 10:7.9)
4. “I AM” the Good Shepherd (John 10:11,14)
5. “I AM” the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25)
6. “I AM” the Way the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)
This is the last of the I AM statements. We must become one of the branches of the vine!
We must produce fruit, or the vinedresser will take us away. We must abide in Him, and true
believers obey the Lord’s commands, submitting to His word. If we are devoted to His will
our prayers are fruitful (John 14:13, 14) in turn puts God’s glory on display as He answers.
4/5/16: “God’s House”
God’s House
I feel led to write this up because there is a forgotten element we must all remember to honor and respect—God’s house, the building of it, the care of it and the understanding of it is vital.
Until Moses led Israel into the wilderness God simply dwelt among men, wherever they were. But now that He has brought His people together, 2 1/2 million of them, He wants them to see Him (His Glory), and know He is the only True God. Therefore He required that He have a place to dwell other then bushes, mountains, etc.
He again desired to be as close as possible to His chosen people. It began in Exodus 25 when God said, “Let those who have a willing heart bring offerings to establish His house and all of the things in it”. Also in Exodus 35:5 He did not want anyone to give to it except those who really desired to. Read Exodus 35:6-35. The rest of Exodus speaks of all the work and materials it took to build God’s dwelling place and all that went in it. It also gives us a clear understanding of how serious it was. From that point on everything surrounded the Tabernacle.
Tabernacle means a place for worship, worship God. His dwelling place. For years they took the Tabernacle with them wherever they went but after crossing over into the Promise Land it became more stable and remained in one region. It seems that in 1 Samuel 2:22 with Eli being very old and being a priest for a long time it has become a permanent structure. It also speaks of how his sons disrespected God’s house which they would later pay for with their life 1 Samuel 2:34.
The next major step we see is found in 2 Samuel 7. God commands Nathan the Prophet to instruct David concerning building Him (God) a house. The first part of that chapter David makes clear his desire to build a house for God and then God gives the command. Notice again, a willing heart even 400 years later. Now again let’s look at how serious God takes building His house. In verses 12-17 God tells David his son will build His house not David and God will establish David’s throne (Seed) forever.
So, in 1 Kings 6, Solomon begins to build God’s house and it took seven years to do so. In 1 Kings 8 Solomon celebrates and makes huge offerings unto God for the dedication of the house of the Lord. In this chapter, verses 17-19, it is again rehearsed how David desired to build God’s house but God would not let him. However, it touched God and for David’s sake he allowed Solomon to build it. David did play a big part in supplying much treasure for God’s house beginning in 2 Samuel 18:1-11. Note also 1 Kings 7:51. Solomon’s prayer in 1 Kings 8 at the Temple dedication is very important.
Now in 1 Kings 9 God speaks to Solomon and tells him how to walk in His ways or He will destroy the very house that was built for Him. We cannot do something for God one time or dedicate something unto God and then forget what we have done.
Dedicate means to consecrate for a holy purpose forever. 1 Chronicles 9 begins to give us an understanding of the work it takes to maintain God’s house God’s way. 1 Chronicles 22 speaks of all David laid in store for Solomon to build God’s house and why he could not build it (verse 8). 1 Chronicles 23 again gives us an idea of how important positions and work are in God’s house.
It cannot be just built or bought, it must be cared for and maintained or it displeases God. (1 Chronicles 23:4-32). Temple assignments go on in Chapters 24, 25 and 26. Nehemiah 10:32-39, Chapter 11: 12-36 and Chapter 12 all give us a clear understanding of how vital it was and is to care for God’s house. At this time His house has been destroyed on several occasions but God has always found those who will rebuild and keep it. Nehemiah 13 tells us of how God’s house was mistreated and how Nehemiah restored it.
We could go on and on with scripture after scripture but to sum it up look at Matthew 21:12-14 where Jesus cast out those who disrespected His house. It’s not enough to be good business minded, we must also be spiritually minded or the house will not stand.
If, after you have studied these scriptures and prayed, I can be of more help let me know.

3/29/16: “Once saved always saved…’NOT’!!!”
Once saved always saved …
“NOT”!!!
Matthew 7:16-20 (READ)
In these Scriptures we see that , if you are “good” then you bring forth that which is “good”. Things such as drinking, drugs, foul language, disobedience, etc., are NOT “good” and Christians DO NOT do them!
Matthew 7:21-23 (READ)
Here is is made clear, also, that just because you called upon the name of the Lord, DOES NOT mean you’re saved. Jesus makes very clear that it is he who does the will of the Father that goes to Heaven. What is the will of the Father? That we do good and love one another.
Romans 10:9-16 (READ)
In this Scripture, it is made very clear to us that, in order to be saved, it takes more than words. Verse 10 declares that is our heart is right, we will seek righteousness (“Righteousness” means being in right standing with God.)
To willfully sin is an unrighteous act.
We believe with our heart, not our head. Verse 14 is asking, “How can you talk to God if you don’t even know Him?” To know Him is a “heart condition.”
II Peter 2:20-22 (READ)

3/22/16: “I AM” Statement #6
I AM Statement #6
This week we are on “I Am” statement number six. You will find this statement in John 14:6.
John 14:6- Jesus said unto him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to
the Father but through me.”
Friends when Thomas pondered that Jesus was leaving, it troubled him.
Wondering… If Jesus leaves, how can we learn the way to Him? Christ boldly answers, I
Am the way to God because He is the truth of God (John 1:14) and the life of God (John 1:4,
3:15, 11:25).
It really is simple; in a personal relationship with Jesus, we find our way to God. The truth is
what we hold onto while truly living in life for God. Living for God right now and placing all
faith in who He sent guarantees eternal life with the Father in Heaven.
Jesus is the only way; and as long as we have Jesus then Heaven will surely be our home.

3/15/16: Prayer-Part 1

Prayer- Part 1
Prayer is loving communication with God. Prayer is the expression of our spiritual needs through prayer we have a relationship with God. We will find strength, guidance, wisdom, joy, and inner peace.
Psalms 118: 5-6
Psalms 138:3
Isaiah 58:9-11
Philippians 4:6-7
1 Peter 5:7
Prayer may be short or long, alone or in a group, silent or aloud, but it should be a true communication with God and not done for public recognition. (Matthew 6:5-8)
Important aspects of prayer include:
Expressions of faith and trust in God
Confession of our sins
Praise of God’s Mighty Deeds
Thanks giving for all the good things we have received
Dedication to serve God and other people
Request for our needs and the needs of others
The Lord’s Prayer
Jesus spent a lot of time praying. He often went to a solitary place and prayed for hours at a time, at different times in His ministry.
Matthew 14: 23; 26:36-41
Mark 1:35
Luke 5:16;6:12
The famous “Lord’s Prayer” is Jesus’ model of the perfect prayer.
Matthew 6:9
-We call God by the affectionate term” Father” and praise His Holy name.
-We ask that God’s will be done on Earth and in our lives. (Matthew 6:10)
-We ask to be given the things we need, but we don’t ask things we merely desire. (Matthew 6:11)
-We ask for forgiveness of our sins and acknowledge that we must also forgive others who sin against us.
(Matthew 5:44; 6:14-15; Mark 11:12; Luke 6:28 and Matthew 6:12)
-We ask for the strength to resist temptation and evil. (Luke 22:40)
God will answer our prayers but Jesus said this: (Matthew 7:7-11)
God will answer our prayers and give us everything we need and more (Mark 11:24; John 15:7) But a wise parent will not give a child everything that he or she wants. Prayer is not a magical trick to get anything we want or a “quick fix” for problems that we should be solving ourselves. God answers prayer request in His own way, in His own time. (Psalms 40:1-3) He will not grant request that are against His holy and wise purposes. (1 John 5:14-15) Our selfish nature is not in our long-term interest or those request made with impure motives. (Psalms 66:18, Proverbs 28:9; Isaiah 29:13; Isaiah 59:2; Hebrews 11:6; James 4:3)

3/9/16: “A Heart Waxed Cold”
